Greenfingers!

This week’s business card comes from none other than Jamie Wieck. For those of you who aren’t familiar with this name; Jamie is the CEO and Creative Director of ENSO, a creative consultancy. He has also been a judge of the D&AD Awards and speaks at various institutions across the UK. To add even more to the list, he launched ‘#The50 Things Every Creative Should Know’, a Tweetable guide for graduating creatives.

So out of all these many achievements, it’s not suprising that Wieck has produced a business card worthy of being on this blog. Could this be the coolest business card out there?

Well cast your eye over this ‘growing’ business card.

This card has an extremely simplistic, modern style to it and also implements the latest trend of ‘upcycling’ [verb: reuse (discarded objects or material) in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original item].

Seeds have been inserted between the two layers of card which formed the business card, and pictogram instructions on the back of the card depict that by leaving the business card in a dish of water for 4 days, a plant will grow. Transforming the business card into a miniature house plant, how very green!

This creates a very earthy and environmentally considerate ethic and at the same time ensures that the card is not just filed away and forgotten about. Genius!

I have recently started a small collection of house plants (they are my babies – very early midlife-crisis – we won’t go into that), so this may have swayed my opinion slightly into loving this card!
